KEMAMAN -- Two brothers went to work as loggers in the Cerul Forest Reserve in Terengganu with dreams of earning money enough to celebrate Christmas in their village. Their dreams of celebrating the Yuletide in Lawas, Sarawak, were nearly dashed when they were among six people trapped for more than 29 hours in the jungle. Thankfully, they were rescued by firemen today. William Anak Ligang, 37, his 33-year-old brother James and four other loggers found themselves trapped when their four-wheel drive vehicle broke down on the way back last night. The other four saved by the Cheneh station Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department were Alister Sinawat Ukul, 23; Mohd Ghani Ismail, 38; Ab Sani Abd Khalid, 37 and Mohd Hariri Hasan, 37. William said they had already booked their ticket home to Sarawak tomorrow and were on the verge of giving up hope when they had to travel by foot and cross several fast-flowing rivers, due to the monsoon, season to save themselves. ...
