KUALA LUMPUR -- Two people died and seven others were injured in a road accident involving three lorries and a car early today on the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), according to the police.
Petaling Jaya District Police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said a man and a woman were killed in the accident that occurred at 3.50 am, and caused a massive traffic congestion in both directions on the NKVE.
The injured people were taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital and the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, he said.
Mohd Zani said details of the accident will be provided later.
He advised road users to avoid the NKVE stretch between the Subang and Damansara exits.
The Malaysian Highway Authority had tweeted that traffic had built up to 10 kilometres in the morning rush hour on either side as work progressed to clear the highway of the vehicles and debris.
