Nepal ready to sign MoU for recruitment workers in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR -- Amidst the recent Nepali migrant worker scam, the Nepal government is ready to continue discussion on the recruitment, employment and repatriation of workers agreement with Malaysia, to safeguard the welfare and protect the rights of its workers here. Nepal's Charge d'Affaires in Malaysia, Kumar Raj Kharel said the agreement would further provide a clear guidelines in governing the recruitment, employment and repatriation of Nepali workers. "We hope it (MoU) can be an instrument to protect the rights of our workers," he told Bernama in an interview here, on Thursday. The first round of discussion on labour cooperation between Nepal and Malaysia was held in Kathmandu on Feb 20-21, 2017. IPOH -- Pasangan warga emas yang mengikuti kelas pengajian agama di Pusat Pendidikan Al Barakah di sini bertemu jodoh apabila pengasas dan pengetua pusat pendidikan itu Datuk Mohd Kazim Elias menjadi 'orang tengah' penyatuan pasangan berkenaan. National Day 2018 is a celebration of people victory

GEORGE TOWN -- Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has described that this year’s National Day celebration will be more meaningful as Malaysians are not only celebrating the country’s independence but also rejoicing the liberation of a kleptocratic government. He said it was also to celebrate the victory of the people who had sacrificed and been brave in saving the country from such a government. “It was indeed the people who liberated themselves by having the courage to go out en masse to vote, rejecting the kleptocratic government. National car project 3.0 will launchs by 2020

KUALA LUMPUR -- The government is set to launch the national car project 3.0 by 2020 as envisioned by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad. Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Yusof said the current government believed that the move could revitalise the national automotive industry. “We attempt to revive and grow the industry due to its tremendous potential. Besides, auto component manufacturing is also one of the sectors that drives small and medium enterprises (SMEs),” he told reporters on the sidelines of the TOC Automotive College Convocation Ceremony. KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- The third week of current Dewan Rakyat session saw almost all new ministers and deputy ministers of Pakatan Harapan (PH) government tested on their capability to reply to issues raised by both government and opposition members of Parliament. Voters had no mood to vote - EC

SHAH ALAM -- The voter turn-out for the Sungai Kandis by-election today was unofficially only 49.8 per cent, believed to be because voters had no mood to vote as they could still feel the impact of the 14th General Election. Election Commission Deputy Chairman Tan Sri Othman Mahmood said he was personally not satisfied with the percentage of voter turn-out as the original target was 80 per cent. “The voting process went well, but I am not satisfied as the voter turn-out was low,” he told reporters at the vote counting centre in Section 19, Shah Alam.  He said the lowest recorded voter turn-out was during the Penanti by-election in Penang on May 31, 2009, at 46 per cent. PKR retains Sungai Kandis state seat

SHAH ALAM – PKR retained the Sungai Kandis State Assembly Seat in the by-election for the constituency with a majority of 5,842 votes. PKR candidate Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni polled 15,427 votes while Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Lokman Noor Adam obtained 9,585 votes while Independent candidate K. Murthy only managed to get 97 votes. Mohd Zawawi, 48, received a lower majority compared to the of 12,480 votes obtained by the former State Assemblyman for the constituency, the late Mat Shuhaimi Shafiei in the 14th General Election (GE14). The result was announced by Returning Officer Datuk Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad at 9.25 pm at the official vote counting centre at the Dewan Besar Tanjung, Shah Alam City Council in Section 19, here.
