KUALA LUMPUR -- Malindo Air has launched its first flight from Johor Bahru to Guangzhou, China which departed from Senai Airport at 10.15 pm with 96 passengers on-board and arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport today morning at 2.20 am (local time).
It chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the new route would serve as an alternative for travellers from Guangzhou to Malaysia.
“They can easily connect to Singapore from Johor Bahru by land, or take advantage of the connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur for a twin city tour. This will encourage growth in tourist and passengers’ arrival into Malaysia.
“On the other hand, we have also introduced another two new routes from Kuala Lumpur to China, i.e Zhengzhou and Chengdu. These flights will commence from May 1, 2019,” he said in a statement today.
Currently, Malindo Air operates flights from Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Johor Bahru to seven cities in China, namely Chengdu, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Haikou, Kunming, Tianjin and Wuhan.
